Sam is an Aotearoa New Zealand children’s author, television writer, and former dentist. Originally trained in dentistry, Sam earned a Bachelor of Dental Surgery before later obtaining a Master of Arts in Creative Writing.

Sam’s career took an unexpected turn following a diagnosis of multiple sclerosis, prompting a shift from dentistry to comedy writing. Since then, Sam has worked in television and has become a published children’s author, known for infusing humour into engaging and imaginative stories.

Sam’s books include two picture books illustrated by Daron Parton and the Miles and Jones graphic novel series, illustrated by Cesar Lador.
