Rachel Weston

Rachel Weston writes picture books and children’s non-fiction.

“There’s something magical about the feel of a picture book in your hands. The cover beckons you to read it and little fingers want to explore it. With a child on your lap and maybe one or more cuddled up beside you, touching, turning, talking, you’re all wonderfully caught up in the story together. You can’t be busy with something else when you’re reading to a child. Those moments of undivided attention with children, the closeness and togetherness can’t be beat! Happy story time!”

Rachel started writing non-fiction books when she discovered bumblebees live under the ground, hibernate through the winter – like a bear, sit on their eggs – like a mother hen, and go through metamorphosis – like a butterfly! She knew children would love learning these incredible, fun facts and couldn’t wait to write her debut book Bumblebees Have Smelly Feet published in 2019. And guess what? Bumblebees really do have smelly feet!
