Kirsty Wadsworth

Kirsty was born in Slough, England and moved to New Zealand when she was very young. She loves reading, writing stories, helping at the local theatre and scrapbooking about her various travels. Kirsty’s day job is a primary school teacher, which she loves. She currently lives in New Plymouth with her husband, Manu, their children, Matthew and Sophia, and many, many books!

Kirsty had her first book, The Promise of Puanga published by Scholastic in 2019. She then went on to win the 2021 Storylines Joy Cowley award with her manuscript Ihaka and the Unexpected Visitor. The Māori translations of both books have won a Storylines Notable Book Award. Kirsty’s next book is set to be released in 2025.
