Profile

Fleur Beale

Fleur Beale  is a novelist, creative writing teacher, and short story writer. She has now had over 30 books published, with some of them also being published in the United States and England.

Fleur was born in Taranaki, went to Norfolk Road primary school, the same school her father had gone to, and then on to Inglewood High and Victoria Uni in Wellington. She started writing when she was at home with two preschoolers and was looking for an anti-boredom activity. Her mother was a published writer so writing seemed like a good idea. But writing is addictive and she’s still at it over 40 years later, now writing mainly for teens.
