Claudia Palmer (Te Rarawa, Te Aupōuri) has a background in environmental campaigning, book publishing and marketing. She is passionate about connecting people with the things that they care about whether that be a great book, an inspiring event or a good cause.

After completing the Whitireia Publishing course, she worked for Huia Publishers in Wellington promoting award-winning books and authors. It was during this time, she came to know just how life changing great children’s books can be.

Between writing for The Sapling and learning te reo Māori, she currently works as an advocate for the recovery of the endangered Hoiho, yellow-eyed penguin.
