After completing high school, Amy spent 11 years working in a primary school library, during which time they completed a Level 5 Diploma and a BA in Information and Library Studies. Following a redundancy, Amyjoined the library team at Blind Low Vision NZ, where they now hold the position of Senior Librarian. Their role includes maintaining the library catalogue, liaising with staff across multiple departments, working with external suppliers, and supporting library members.
A fully qualified librarian, Amy has over 16 years’ experience across school and specialist library environments and enjoys collaborating with a wide range of people to achieve shared goals.
Outside of professional work, Amy is an active committee member for both a Scottish Country Dancing group and a Japanese Taiko Drumming team. They also volunteered with Storylines for over a decade, helping organise Family Days and other events.
Having grown up around Storylines through their mother, Ann Luxton, Amy is excited to continue the family legacy, bringing their specialist library experience to new opportunities and challenges within the literary community.
