Denis Martin

Denis Martin worked as a secondary school English teacher and a librarian before becoming a full-time junior fiction writer. Denis has spent most of his life in and around Marlborough’s sounds and vineyards, although he is always on the lookout for new experiences, travelling whenever he can.
Outside of New Zealand, his fondest memories are of working in an English country pub, exploring the Mediterranean sunshine of Greece, teaching in Papua New Guinea, and doing absolutely nothing in Rarotonga.
At home in Blenheim, Denis lives with his wife Jan and a likeable mongrel dog, with bookshelves full of heroes like Cynthia Voigt, Bernard Cornwell, Paul Zindel and Bill Bryson.

Selected bibliography:
  • Face It (Puffin 2006).
  • Playing for Keeps (Puffin 2007).
  • The Silence of Fear (Penguin 2008).
