Writer Anne Ingram was born in Auckland, and spent her childhood years in Dunedin, Te Kuiti and Orewa. She has a BA in English Literature and Diploma in Teaching (Secondary). She has lived and worked in Wellington, London, Christchurch, Singapore and Wellington, but has spent the longest time where she lives now, in Waikanae on the Kapiti Coast. Anne has worked as a newspaper columnist, freelance journalist, publishers' editor, and teacher, and has had her own specialist children's bookstore, Moby Dickens' Books. For a number of years she produced a weekly children's programme for Coast Access Radio. She has been coordinator of the Kapiti children's book festival, convenor of Kapiti Schools Mastermind competitions, and has edited and produced collections of work by local writers: Shortz - Stories from Kapiti (2012), and Flying High- Stories and Poems from Kapiti (2015). Currently she is convenor of a skills-based Focus Writing Group and deputy chair of Kapiti Children's Writers' Charitable Trust. |
