National treasure Joy Cowley will share stories in the Scholastic Books Out Loud room on level four, and talk about their writing in the Book Talk room on level three.
We regret that Margaret Mahy will not be able to appear at Auckland Family Day this year as planned.
Dorothy Butler (author, reading authority) sharing stories suitable for under fives (as featured in her new book Reading Begins at Home) in the Scholastic Books Out Loud read-aloud room on level four.
Anna Mackenzie (int/senior fiction) talks teen fiction with David Hill
Jennifer Cooper (illustrator) demonstrating her artistic talents in the Artists in Action illustrator gallery
Glenn Jowitt taking part in the special Photo Zone in the Blues Bar on level 3. See his dazzling photos of hats from many nations as featured in his What is on Top? book.
Des Hunt (junior/senior fiction) shares his conservation-themed novels and scientific expertise in the Factopia room.
David Hill (junior & senior fiction), Kyle Mewburn (picture book/junior fiction), Feana Tu'akoi and Sally Sutton will all share their Kiwi Bites books in a special session at 10am in the Books Break Out room, amongst other activities
Tracy Duncan (picture book author/illustrator) drawing and painting in the Artists in Action illustration gallery on level five.
Paula Green (poet/author) launches her new chapter book The Terrible Night
Marcia Stenson (non-fiction) features in our special Pasifika area in Factopia - she has written The Illustrated History of the South Pacific, The Illustrated History of New Zealand and The Illustrated History of Antartica so she really knows her stuff!
Melanie Drewery (picture book author) reads her wonderful stories.
Ant Sang (Bro'town) and Dylan Horrocks (comic writer and artist) demo their talents in the Comic Zone on level 5 (part of the Artists in Action illustrator gallery)

Brian Falkner (author) leads the first Auckland Family Day Story Sports competition
Allan Trussell-Cullen (non-fiction) shares his exciting new science books about Smelly and Poinsonous Stuff in Factopia where you can also hear Feana Tu'akoi talk about her innovative What is a... series.
Leilani Rickard will also be in Factopia demonstrating How to Make a Piupiu to celebrate the launch of her book of the same name.
Sally Sutton (picture book, junior fiction) launches her new picture book Roadworks with Brian Lovelock (illustrator) who will also be in the Artists in Action illustrator gallery.
Darryl Torckler shows his incredible wildlife photographs in the Photo Zone on level three in the Blues Bar.
Sandra Morris (illustrator) leads the crew of talented illustrators in the Artists in Action illustrator gallery. Creating artwork all day long. Included in the gallery are Ross Kinnaird, Tracy Duncan, and Fraser Williamson.
Look out for Tanya Batt (storyteller), roving around family day with her amazing puppet theatre bicycle!
