Writing Workshop - Peeling the Onion! - Dawn McMillan
Manurewa Library 4-7 Hill Road, Manurewa
Peel away the layers. Throw away some words. Find the core of the story. You may shed some tears along the way! Write a picture book! Narrative processes…Jigsaw ideas….Storyboarding…Illustration briefs… and…. What to do with your work

Illustration Workshop - Picture Book Secrets - Brian Lovelock
Albany Junior High School, Appleby Road, Albany
Learn the secrets about illustrating children’s picture books. See the original pictures for the award winning ‘Roadworks’ and hear how the book was made. Have fun making a storyboard and a picture book cover.

Illustration Workshop - “Media Magic” - Lindy Fisher
Auckland Reading Recovery Centre 21A Rangipawa Road, Onehunga
A hands on exploration of the special techniques Lindy uses to create picture book artworks. Sponge scrunch and squeeze, tear rip and wrap, carve dent and drizzle!! Experiment with textures then colour to create a multi media art work.

Illustration Workshop - IMAGES - Philip Webb
Manurewa Library 4-7 Hill Road, Manurewa
A workshop to inspire the imagination. Add new images to your imagination using photographic reference with lots of fun drawing to create an illustration. Colour if time allows. Materials and reference will be supplied but feel free to bring your own photo/magazine reference or favourite toy.

Illustration Workshop - Drawing the Kaka - Heather Arnold
Glen Eden Library 12-32 Glendale Road, Glen Eden
Learn how to draw the North Island Kaka that appears in the book Rangitoto. Using a step-by-step approach, you will draw a pencil drawing of this unique bird, with Heather Arnold, illustrator of Rangitoto.
