Liz van der Laarse

Liz van der Laarse is a pre- and early teen fiction writer. She was born in Palmerston North in 1952, the third of four children. The family moved to Auckland when she was eight, she was not impressed – she knew then that she wanted to live her life in the country.
After gaining a BA in social sciences from the University of Auckland, she trained as a primary teacher at Auckland College of Education. She married Max, also a teacher, and had two daughters. Liz and Max currently both teach at Taipa Area School in Doubtless Bay, in the Far North.
