Huhana Smith

Huhana is of Ngati Tukorehe and Ngati Raukawa descent. Her paintings have been exhibited nationally and internationally and many are in both public and private collections. Although born in Australia, Huhana came to New Zealand in 1993 to pursue her studies in Mâori language, Mâori visual culture and, later, museum studies. Huhana works at Te Papa as Senior Curator Mâori.
