Kat Anna Fiddle are a professional storytelling/puppeteering/musical duo who have delighted audiences of all ages throughout the South Island with their zany humour and touching tales.
As well as being a trained Early Childhood teacher, Kaitrin is a professional storyteller with over 25 years’ experience. She tells stories to a range of audiences in a variety of settings: schools, festivals, conferences, museums, art galleries, libraries and pubs. She was a featured teller at the 2004 Glistening Waters Storytelling festival and a guest performer at the National Australia Storytellers’ Festival 2005. She’s toured schools for the Department of Conservation and REAP in Central Otago and the West Coast and performed many other popular self-generated projects and tours. In collaboration with Christchurch storyteller Liz Weir, she recorded a CD of mostly original stories called Worms in the Pot.
Anna is a teacher of music in several Dunedin primary schools in addition to being a skilled and versatile musician currently linked to four Dunedin bands. With many recordings under her belt. She is most active with the contemporary folk duo Catgut and Steel.
She’s mastered the fiddle, mandolin, penny whistle, accordion and guitar, and has a honey-rich singing voice. A Dutch immigrant, she is bilingual and is still remembered as a well-known figure busking around Dunedin with her distinctive fiddle style and her fiddling companion Coco the Cat.
