Kyle Mewburn

Kyle_Mewburn_new_1.JPGKyle's picture books have won numerous awards and been published in nine countries so far. His latest picture book Old Hu-hu, a poignant tale about losing someone dear, was the 2010 New Zealand Post Book of the Year. His other titles includeKiss! Kiss! Yuck! Yuck! (winner of Best Picture Book and Children's Choice at the 2008 NZ Post Book Awards, as well as the Flicker Tale Award in the US), No room for a Mouse and Duck's Stuck!. He has also written numerous school readers and a junior chapter book series Pop Hooper's Perfect Pets. His first junior novel A Crack in the Sky will be released in July, 2010.
 
Originally from Brisbane, Kyle lives with his wife, Marion, a well-known potter, in a house with a grass roof in the middle of nowhere in the far south of the South Island of New Zealand. When not writing, Kyle is usually found in his garden singing to his vegies, in his creek swimming or off exploring the strange land he's discovered at the back of his wardrobe.
