Maria Gill

Maria_Gill_photo_credit_Katrina_Rees_1.jpgMaria Gill was born in Auckland (1961) and lived there most of her life apart from several years in Australia, England and Europe. She has also travelled to China, India, Egypt, America and Asia. Maria is a graduate of Auckland Teachers College (BEd) and also has a Graduate Diploma in Journalism Studies. She taught at Primary level for several years until she had two children (Tristan and Rhiannon) with her husband Rod. She relief taught for ten years but now writes full-time. She also coordinates Kiwi Write4Kidz a writers' group for adults who tell tales. Maria lives in Matakana on a lifestyle farm with her family, and numerous animals. She enjoys giving author talks in schools, researching her books, reading, dancing and plucking the produce from her organic garden.
