Tatiana Aslund

Tatiana Aslund was born in Pakistan in 1966 and educated at schools in Wellington, Kerikeri and Otago. She's worked as a lab technician, geologist, petrologist and forensic and industrial scientist but these days she home-schools her children and fits in writing when she can.

Tatiana is not sure she ever decided to become a writer, she just liked to write, especially stories for children. She was nine or 10 years old when she started writing and even though Tatiana is a writer rather than an illustrator, she likes to draw pictures to go with all her stories.

When not busy doing home stuff like growing vegetables and bread baking, Tatiana is interested in the natural sciences, conservation, the environment, history and crafts. When time allows she likes to go beach walking, kayaking and snorkelling.
