Storylines currently has two  opportunities for people passionate about children's literature, and with experience in event management.

Regional Coordinator Christchurch
We are seeking to appoint a part-time contracted regional coordinator for Storylines Christchurch Family Day and associated events in Christchurch. With the assistance of the local Storylines Festival committee and in consultation with the Storylines executive officer and events manager, you will co-ordinate Storylines Family Day activities in your region and ensure the success of the event.
You will be self-motivated, flexible and independent; able to listen well and communicate clearly, and able to make quick, calm decisions using sound judgment. Previous event coordinator experience would be advantageous but not essential. You will also be committed to the success of the event/s and to encouraging reading (especially of New Zealand books), storytelling, writing and illustrating by young New Zealanders.
Key skills required:
  • excellent interpersonal and proven relationship-building skills
  • clear and concise communication skills, both oral and written
  • flexibility and the capacity to work on multiple projects
  • strong computer skills
  • attention to detail
  • the willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings where required
  • knowledge of / interest in children’s literature
  • professional, willing attitude with a commitment to building the overall profile of Storylines.

Auckland-based Story Tour Coordinator
We are seeking to appoint a part-time contracted Story Tour Coordinator. With the assistance of the Storylines Executive Officer and Events Manager, you will co-ordinate the two-day Northland Story Tour and the five-day Auckland Story Tour.
 
Key skills required:
  • time management and interpersonal skills
  • clear and concise communication skills, both oral and written
  • clexibility and the capacity to work on multiple projects
  • ctrong computer skills
  • attention to detail
  • the willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings where required
  • knowledge of / interest in children’s literature
  • professional, willing attitude with a commitment to building the overall profile of Storylines.
